Friday brought us a full day of wet festivities! It was our first day of the open class herding competition, we'll post the scores tomorrow. The rain does not stop the running of the sheep! We had bag piping on the field, they were a little later than scheduled and in their rain gear, but what an experience! Tickets are still available online or if you're on island make sure to stop by Pandora's Box or The Country Store & Farm to pick up your ticket. Please bring cash, we were having technical difficulty with our card readers today. Hopefully the weather and technology works in our favor for the weekend.
Saturday is World Wide Knit in Public Day, special guest Cat Bordhi from 12p-4p, sheep shearing at 11a & 2p, Handler Q & A with Julie Forbes from the Dog Show with Julie Forbes at 2p.
We've got the shuttle running fro 9a-5p. Three school buses stopping at the North end ferry dock, one stopping at the South end dock. Vashon town stops include Ober Park & Ride, The Country Store & Farm and Nashi Orchards.
If you visit us over the weekend, please remember you're on island time now. We do everything within our powers to get the ferry, shuttle, bagpipers or sheep shearing to you on time, but the sheep and dogs and life happens so we may run a little late. You're encouraged to visit our food, fiber, fair or SIP Vashon Spirit Garden vendors to fill the time! ... See more
